What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website saves to your phone, tablet, or laptop when you visit. They let the site remember things - like that you're logged in, which dark-mode setting you picked, or whether you've already dismissed the cookie banner.
Cookies cannot run programs, install software, or read other files on your device. They're labels, not engines.
On RoadHeart, cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session storage, and lightweight pixel tags) help us keep you signed in across truck-stop Wi-Fi networks, remember preferences like your home base or theme choice, and understand which pages drivers actually find useful. Without certain cookies, core features like staying logged in or saving a Wave to another member would not work.
Types of Cookies We Use
We group the cookies on RoadHeart into three plain categories. You can accept or reject the non-essential ones at any time using the cookie banner or your browser settings.
🔒
Always active
Essential Cookies
Required for RoadHeart to function. They keep you signed in, remember which form fields you filled, protect against fraud and abuse, and load balance traffic across our servers. These cannot be turned off because the site would not work without them. They expire when you log out or after 30 days.
📊
Optional
Analytics Cookies
Help us see which pages drivers visit, where people drop off, and which features actually get used during evening downtime. Data is aggregated and never tied back to your name or profile. We use this to fix slow pages and improve the parts of the site you depend on. Off by default until you accept.
📣
Optional
Marketing Cookies
Used only if you accept the marketing banner. They help us show relevant RoadHeart ads on trucking forums, YouTube, and social channels, and measure whether those ads brought drivers who actually joined. You can opt out anytime and we will stop setting them on your next visit.
Third-Party Cookies
A few services we rely on may set their own cookies when you use parts of RoadHeart. We choose partners that align with our privacy commitments and we list them below so there are no surprises.

How to Manage Cookies in Your Browser
You can accept, reject, or delete cookies at any time. The fastest way is the cookie banner that appears on your first visit - but you can also use your browser's built-in controls. The steps below cover the browsers most RoadHeart members use on phones and laptops:
- Google Chrome (Android & desktop): Menu → Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data. Choose to block third-party cookies, clear cookies on exit, or remove site-specific cookies.
- Safari (iPhone & iPad): Settings app → Safari → Privacy & Security. Toggle "Block All Cookies" or use "Clear History and Website Data."
- Safari (Mac): Safari → Settings → Privacy. Manage Website Data lets you remove cookies for individual sites.
- Firefox: Menu → Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data. Choose Strict, Standard, or Custom protection.
- Microsoft Edge: Menu → Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
- Samsung Internet: Menu → Settings → Sites and downloads → Manage website data.
Heads up: if you block essential cookies, you may not be able to log in, send a Wave, or keep your premium subscription active. Analytics and marketing cookies can be safely declined with no impact on core features.
