Trust & Transparency

RoadHeart Privacy Policy

Plain English, no buried clauses. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and how you stay in control of it.

Your Privacy on a Dating Platform Matters

Dating data is sensitive - especially for OTR drivers who can't afford coworkers, shippers, or dispatch stumbling across their profile. RoadHeart was built around a simple promise: we collect only what's needed to connect you with real people, we never sell personal data to brokers, and we let you delete everything in two clicks. This policy explains the details.

What Information We Collect

We collect three categories of information. Each one exists for a specific reason tied to making trucker dating work - not for advertising or resale.

How We Use Your Information

Here's the bottom line: every use below either makes the platform work, keeps members safe, or is required by law. Nothing else.

  1. To run your account - log you in, send password resets, and back up your data so you don't lose it if your phone dies at a Pilot Flying J.
  2. To match you with compatible members - route compatibility, home-base proximity, and stated preferences power the "Drivers You May Like" feed.
  3. To keep the community safe - detect bots, romance scammers, and impersonation. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours.
  4. To communicate with you - match notifications, security alerts, and occasional product updates. You can opt out of marketing email at any time.
  5. To improve RoadHeart - aggregated, de-identified analytics tell us which features actually help drivers. Individual behavior is never tied to your public profile.
  6. To meet legal obligations - respond to lawful court orders, fraud investigations, and consumer-protection requests.

Third-Party Sharing & Service Providers

We do not sell your personal information. Period. We share limited data only with vetted service providers who help us run the platform, under strict contracts that prohibit them from using your data for any other purpose.

Provider type Purpose
Cloud hosting (AWS, US-East regions) Stores your account, profile, and messages on encrypted servers.
Payment processor (Stripe) Processes optional premium subscriptions. RoadHeart never sees full card numbers.
Email delivery (Postmark) Sends transactional email - password resets, security alerts, match notifications.
Photo verification & moderation Reviews uploaded photos and CDL documents to confirm authenticity.
Analytics (privacy-friendly, no third-party cookies) Aggregate page views and feature usage. No cross-site tracking.
Law enforcement Only in response to valid legal process or to prevent imminent harm.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

RoadHeart uses a small number of essential cookies (keeping you logged in, remembering dark mode), plus privacy-friendly analytics. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site trackers. For the full breakdown of cookie types, durations, and how to disable each one in your browser, see our Cookie Policy.

Your Rights Under GDPR & CCPA

Whether you're covered by Europe's GDPR, California's CCPA/CPRA, or any other modern privacy law, RoadHeart honors the same rights for every member. You can exercise any of these by emailing [email protected] from the address on your account - most requests are completed within 30 days.

Right to Access

Request a full copy of the data we hold about you in a portable format. Includes profile, messages, and activity logs.

Right to Correct

Fix anything that's inaccurate. Most profile fields are editable directly from your account settings without contacting us.

Right to Delete

Erase your account and personal data permanently. Two clicks in Settings → Account, or email us. We confirm within 7 days.

Right to Opt Out of Sale

RoadHeart does not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. We confirm this annually to California regulators.

Right to Restrict Processing

Pause certain uses of your data - for example, hiding your profile while you take a break from the road without deleting it.

Right to Lodge a Complaint

Contact your local data protection authority (e.g., your state Attorney General or the EU supervisory authority) if you're unsatisfied with our response.

Data Retention & Privacy Requests

We hold profile data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile and messages are permanently erased within 30 days, except where we're legally required to retain limited records (fraud prevention, tax compliance) for up to seven years. Inactive accounts that haven't logged in for 24 consecutive months are automatically flagged and deleted after a reminder email.

For any privacy question - including data access, deletion, or a concern about how we handled your information - email [email protected]. We respond within 5 business days and complete most requests within 30 days. For broader account help, see our Contact page. For tips on staying safe on the platform itself, read our Safety Tips.
